I tried a few knife sets before settling on this one. I tried the Kitchenaid & Farberware sets and they cannot match the quality of these Cuisinarts. They are so sharp that I had to change the way I prepared vegs - they are like razors! They are heavy and well balanced. Did I mention sharp? Be careful!
Great set of knives for the money

I bought this set to replace our odds and ends collection of kitchen knives and could not be happier. The block gets the knives out of the drawer and now I have something that I can keep sharp. I good sharp blade and an easy to grip handle, makes all the difference.
EXCELLENT!

I did some lengthy Internet research prior to buying this knife set. I wanted a REALLY nice set (nicely balanced, remained sharp, very dependable), and did not want to pay the outrageous price of other sets. I am not a professional cook by any means, but do a lot of home cooking with four kids. I rate this set a 10/10, and would buy it again in a heartbeat!

This is my first "real" set of knives and I love them. They are very sharp and well balanced. I didn't realize how dull my old knives were until I cut some vegetables with these. My only problem with them was that there wasn't a place for the santoku and I was expecting the steak knives to be serated. Other than that I love!!! these knives.
Good knives for what they are

These knives are not meant to compete with Wustof, Henkels, and Furi knives. What do you expect for $100?
However, as a set of everyday knives I have found them to be very nice. They keep an edge after I gave them a proper sharpening, they look nice, and they get the job done without messing up your nice knives. I have a few pieces of professional cutlery and of course these don't compare, but I'm not going to throw $1000 down to get that type of set, either.
Pros:
Attractive set with a nice block.
Clean up easily.
Hold an edge for a good amount of time.
Inexpensive.
Cons:
Not balanced (nothing is for this price)
Handles are a tad small for someone like me with large hands.
No slot in block for Santoku. |
a good cut

This cutlery set is great.
We just got married and it is wonderful for us.
It comes with a great wood block, which does not take up a lot of space. All of the blades are very sharp and are easy to hold.
It is the best set we have had. (Thanks Dad)

Gread knife set for the money

This is a great knife set for the price. My sister in-law used the set when she came to visit and she liked it so much she went home and bought a set for herself. Knifes stay sharp - have to be careful I've cut myself a few times (I'm so used to dull knifes). The only down side is that they don't do well in the dishwasher. I had read other reviews about the cuisinart knifes prior to purchasing that said they did ok in the dishwasher but my experience is that they tend to rust. Much better to just rinse and dry right after use - worth the time to me to keep them in good shape.

Won't by anything refurbished again. These knives were all extremely dull, and one the sm paring knife had a crack in the blade near the back. Also two of the knives had small knicks, including the bread knife . They should have never been on the market. I did not send them back, too much hassle. I did sharpen them, and are now usable. Spend the extra and get Trident, there is no comparison.

These knives are already showing spots of rust despite washing by hand & drying. Very disappointed in quality of finish.
poorly made... you get what you pay for

I really wanted to love these, but after two sets of sloppily ground blades I gave up, returned them and went for Wusthof. I am surprised by all the high reviews I see.
Too many knifes for the holder

Its great that they throw in an extra knife, however the wood block does not have enough slots. Now I have a razor sharp knife in the junk kitchen drawer. Poor planning by cuisinart.
